For almost every class of merchandise the orders have been larger and the quality of goods better than for many years past, and there seems to be an unwonted ability and readiness to pay cash or ask for only very short credit. Actual investigation shows that the in crease in business with the different Southern States varies from 25 to 50 per cent, of the whole, amount for past seasons. This, of course, contributes to the prosperity of our own city, but that is the smallest of our causes for congrat ulation. What is of far greater impor tance, it gives evidence of returning prosperity in the South, and renewed commercial relations, which are al ways friendly and mutually beneficial, between that section ana tne JNortn. The goods furnished for the use of the negroes, too, are of a less flimsy and showy, and of a more substantial char acter, which shows that they are im proving in judgment and stability of character. Not only does the demand for more and better merchandise evince grow ing prosperity, but the call for agricul tural implements and machinery shows that the people are earnestly at wTork establishing their industries upon a solid basis. Nothinsr could be more . Information comes from headquar ters to the Committee here, that an other set of bogus tickets have been rlrinted and sent into this State. The tickets are to be so headed as to appear to be 'Republican tickets, and to have one or two of the Republican Electors for the State at large, and the whole of the Democratic District Electors! The purpose is to deceive and cheat igno rant voters. Let our iri ends watch this trick, and see that voters are not imposed upon. Vote no ticket that does not have all the Republican Electors on it.
