Chairman A. H. Eller of the state
democratic executive committee has
called a meeting of the committee
for Monday night, July 1, in the sen
ate chamber. Mr. Eller announced
two vears ago that he would not be
a candidate for re-election, he say-
iiiK that four years as chairman was
enough for him. It is said that Mr.
Clyde R. Hoey of Shelby, a promi
nent lawyer, may be named to suc-
eed the chairman.

from Shaw University two years

SHE SUED OCT WARRANT
AGAINST RILL COLLECTOR.
Mrs. W. Overby yesterday paid
the costs in an action instituted by
her against C. W. Speight, a bill col
lector. She alleged that Mr. Speight
had committed assault and ' battery
on her, but Justice of the Peace
Bledsoe decided that the prosecution
was frivolous and taxed the '.vonian
with the costs. Speight claimed that
she was mad because he attempted
repeatedly to collect a bill.
