November 5, 1925 Goldston Locals Messrs William Goldston, Joe Dark J Carl Phillips, students at Wake Forest College, spent the week-end tt their home. Mr. Eugene Goldston, a student at State College, spent the week-end at home. Miss Mildred Johnson, a teacher at y ates school, spent the week-end at home with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Goldston, Mrs. t C. Elkins and Misses Nannie Cox and Mary Womble Elkins spent Sat urday in Greensboro. Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Barber, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Moffitt and sons at tended the Sandhill Fair at Pinehurst last Wednesday. Miss Dessie Roberts, Miss Ola Har nlon and Mr. C. F. Womble attended the Pinehurst Fair Thursday after noon. In spite of the rain last Friday evening there was a very good crowd present at the Hallowe’en entertain ment. Everybody seemed to have the spirit of Hallowe’en and had a good time. Mr. C. C. Taylor has bought the old school dormitory and has moved his family in it. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Moses have jmoved in the bungalow vacated by Wr. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Moore and little *% on Clem, Jr., of Greensboro, spent Thursday evening with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Goldston. Miss Francis Ellis entertained in honor of the Camp Fire girls and Boy Scouts very beautifully at her home Saturday evening. Hallowe’en games and stunts were enjoyed. The interdenominational evangelis tic club meets every Wednesday eve ning at seven-thirty o’clock. These meetings are very strengthening and broadening in the Christian life. We have good talks and good singing each time. We will meet at the Presbyterian church this Wednesday evening and it will be held there for a month. Let’s have a large crowd each time. Mr. H. A. Burns, who has been sick for some time, continues very ill. Mr. Bums is the father of Mr. Fred Burns and he is eighty-six years of age. MT. ZION NEWS Our pastor, Rev. C. M. Lance preached one of the best sermons at Mt. Zion Sunday. His text was taken from the hundredth and twenty first Psalm. The main thought of his sermon was “God’s presence and pro tection.” This is the last sermon Mr. Lance will preach for us before he goes to conference which will convene at Fay etteville November the eleventh. The people of the Mt. Zion church %vant Mr. Lance back on the circuit md we are expecting him back. We feel that our church has grown un der his leadership. Mr. Dock Gunter was received into Mt. Zion church Sunday. We are very glad to have him as a member of our church. Mr. Gunter seemed to have started life anew and we are proud of his stand for Christ. Mr. W. B. Thomas has returned to his work in Raleigh after spending a week here with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Petty and chil dren of Pittsboro, spent Sunday with his brother Mr. Turner Petty. Mr. Lacy Harper of the University of North Carolina spent the week-end at home. Miss Lizzie Clegg has returned from a visit to her aunt at Asheboro.
