Stinson continued his work of
delivering papers, firing furnaces,
and doing odd jobs the remainder
of his freshman year at college.
At the end of the school year he
had saved, after paying all his
expemses, between two and three
hundred dollars.
Now that school was up Stinson
decided not to go home as he did j
not have any job there waiting!
for him, but to stay in Raleigh and j
keep his paper route which was :
netting him a good piofit. By do mg j
this he would be sure of having j
saved enough to continue his col- j
lege work the following fall. With;
the approach of warm weather his j
job of firing furnaces was up. So!
he began to look for a job that!
would keep him busy during the
day. This he secured driving a
truck for a pressing club. • !
At the beginning of school the ;
following fall .Stinson stopped driv
ing the pressing club truck, but
held to his job of delivering papers.
Besides this he got all the odd
jobs he could until the weather
began to turn cold when he again
began firing furnaces.

This year instead of staying on
the campus paying room rent,'jani
tor fees etc., he secured a room in
a private home and payed for it
by firing the furnace.
With these two regular jobs and
a few odd jobs during spare mo
ments Stinson attended classes reg
ularly and continued to save quke

school year.
During the following summer
which was after his second year i n

and who worked his way through

be very careful in doing this not
