Mr. Hayes will attend the Southern Baptist convention in Washington, D. C. this week. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Eller and children arrived the last of the week from Arapahoe, N. C., where Mr. Eller has been in school work the past year. Mr. Eller is a son of Dr, and Mrs. A. J. Eller, of Ready Branch, and a sister to Mrs. A. H. Casey, of this city. C. S. Coffey, district Scout commissioner, wants the name oi every boy in Wilkes county who is between the age of 19 and 16 years. Mr. and -Mrs. R. V. Day, who made their home in Wilkesboro during the Wilkesboro school panled them home and wall visit with her father for several days. Mr. C. W. Braswell, resident of Beaver Creek township, was in the city Monday to have his right hand treated. Mr. Braswell had the misfortune of cutting several leadfers to his fingers while engaged in clearing away brush preparatory to cutting timber. The wound is now heal ing fine, and unless complica tions set in Mr. Braswell should be able to use his hand again within a few w’eeks.. H. A. Baldwin Dies Five Monllis Old Son of Mr. And .Airs. H. .\. Bitbiwin Henry Andrew Baldwin, Jr., son 01 Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Bald win, Sr., of Congo, died Wednes day at 1:10 p. m. He was born December 17, 1933 and was, therefore, five months of agC. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon at Penta- costal Holiness church by Rev. C. W. Martin. Surviving are the father and mother and three sisters, Esther, Eunice and Ruth.
