Mr. and Mrs. Beach Keller Operating Green Lantern The monthly meeting of the Presbyterian Auxiliary will be held Tuesday afternoon at the church hat at 3:30 o’clock. ed. Mr. and Mrs. Beach Keller have taken over the management of Green Lantern Cafe, popular eating place on Tenth Street. The Green Lantern has recent ly been renovated and enlarged for the greater convenience of patrons. In connection with the cafe are the Greyhound Bus Sta tion, Sanitary Barber Shop and rooms for transients or regular boarders. Of Union Church Met Tuesday Afternoon The members of Union Meth odist Missionary Society met at the home of Mrs. Oscar Elliott Tuesday evening at 2 o’clock for their regular monthly meeting and was attended by eleven members. The president, Miss over were approved for work to be started soon at the church, also plans for home coming day to take place in .August. Committees ap pointed and asked to meet vith the executive officers Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Fred Miller, Miss Bessie McLean, sup erintendent of young peoples work, will meet with the chil dren Thursday afternoon. After business session the program opened with Mrs. C. W. Mahaf- fey leading in prayer, Mrs. Oscar Blllott read the scripture lesson, Mrs. D. E. Turner discussed the leaflet on Brazil written by Miss Lelia Epps. Missionary to B.azil. Reports from the district meet ing at Elkin, which was attend ed by 8 ladies were given.
