Spainhour, called the meeting to order and during the roll call by Miss Lizzie Hlsle members re sponded with interesting current events. The outstanding feature of the responses was the talk Mrs. J. C. McDiarmid gave on the annual convention of the North Carolina Literary and Historical association that she attended in Raleigh recently. Mrs. McDiarmid was chosen as vice-president of the association. The home was decorated with seasonal suggestions and in the living room the Christmas tree was predominant. At the close of the afternoon the guests were invited into the dining room where a salad and sweet course was served by Mrs. Hix with the assistance of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Brame. F. Kilby The Idlewise club members were entertained at a Christmas party when Mrs. A. F. Kilby was hostess to the club at her home on Memorial iVvenue Friday evening. The hostess used holi day colors and flowers through out the home. The first part of the evening the guests spent an informal hour in sewing and chatting after which Mrs. Kilby, assisted by her little daughter. D. In keeping with the season Mary Jo Pearson gave a Christmas reading and the whole group joined in singing a number of Christmas carols. To close the afternoon, the small hostess, assisted by her mother, Mrs. A. H. Casey, serv ed delightful refreshments.
