C. Grier entertain ed at a pretty tea at her home on E street Monday afternoon. Miss Finley spent the holidays here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Finley, returning to New York Tuesday. A large number of friends braved the sleet and rain to call between the hours of 3 and 6 o’clock and found the interior of the' Grier home all gay and bright, a cheery contrast to the bleakness outside. The living room was decorated in the Christ mas motif and in the dining room a color scheme of yellow and while was effectively carried Oat, Mrs. S. P. Mitchell bade the callers welcome and presented them to the receiving line in P’hich stood Mrs. Grier, Miss Finley and Mrs. J. R. Finley. Miss Lucy Finley showed the way to the dining room where Miss Grace Finley presided at the tea table. Those serving were Mrs. Bryan Higgins, Miss Clara Ogil- vie and Miss Julia Finley. Tilt honoree, Miss Marie Simp son, of Decatur, Ga., spent the Christmas holidays here with Miss Julia Finley, a former schoolmate at Agnes Scott Col lege, and was extended a number of social courtesies during her stay. Circle No. 1. Mrs. Dan Carter chairman, met at the home of .Miss Ijiicy Shook in the evening with an attendance of ten members. .Mrs. W. C. Grier gave the Bible Study. Hostess for Circle No. 2. which met at night, was .Mrs. James O’Daniel. Mrs. Gordon Forester was in charge of the meeting and the Bible study was given by Miss Janie McDiarmid. Seven members were i present. Mrs. H. B. Keck entertained 'the members of Circle No. 3 in the afternoon and had eight members in attendance. Presid ing for the business part of the meeting was the chairman, Mrs. C. C. Faw. Tht Bible study was led by .Mrs. J. B. McCoy. Circle -Vo. 4 met with Mrs. T. B. Finley in the afternoon and was attended by six members. Mrs. A. A. Cashion presided for routine business and Mrs. M. A. Vickery gave the Bible study. Visiting .secretary tor each of the circles was Mrs. E. G. Finley, who spoke on foreign missions. pleasant social hour followed each of the meetings during which time templing refresh ments were served.
