To close the eve ning the hostess served tempting refreshments to the large num ber of members attending. The Legion Auxiliary meets Monday evening at 7:30 o’ clock at the home of Mrs. A. H. C. Grier was hostess at a charming breakfast party at her home on E Street Saturday morning. Hon or guest was Miss Frances Mc Leod, of Cheraw, S. C., who Is In school at Fredrlckshurg, Va., and was spending the week-end here with her sister, Mrs. H. B. Smith. Breakfast was served at nine o’clock with covers laid for seven, the dining table being centered by an attractive mina- ture Christmas tree. The meeting was attended by twenty- nine members, who made a Christmas offering. The sessions are continuing through the week with “Christ mas For Christ” as the general theme for the series of services. Wlednesday night at the church the young people were In charge with Miss Alda Grayson, a mis sionary from China as the speak er. The third session was held this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Sink and the last one will be Friday evening at 7:30 at the home ot 'Mrs. Sink. Lucille Covington Is Music Club Hostess The Junior division ot the Music Lovers Club met Friday afternoon with Lucille Covington as hostess and Ina Myers In charge ot the business session. A large number of the members were present and those render ing piano solos were Tudle Hlx, Annie Ruth Blankenship, Lucille Casey, Lucille Covington, and Mary Hulet. North Wilkesboro People Attend Party At Lenoir A number of North Wilkesboro people were entertained at a lovely dinner party In Lenoir Monday evening by Mrs. James O'Daniels, who has recently moved to Lenoir from North Wilkesboro to make her futui^ home. In a festive setting of red candles and evergreen a delicious dinner was enjoyed at seven o’clock, the hos tess being aided in the serving by Mrs. Carlyle Ingle and Miss A'irginia Tomlinson. After the dinner three tables were made up for bridge with Miss Christine Irvin winning high score prize. Those going over from here for the party were Mesdames Ivey Moore, B. R.
