Mrs. Dula, quite an artist herself, spoke on “Art in the Home and the Art of Living.’* Mrs. C. H. Cowles, the presi dent, presided for the usual bus iness session at which time fine reports of the different activities of the club ■wire hMrd. ' At a previous call meeting of ficers for the new club year were elected as follows; president, Mrs. J. B. Henderson; vice president, Mrs. Cowles; treasurer, Mrs. C. H. Hulcher; and: recording secre tary, Mrs. O. K. Whittington. A social hour ' and refreshments were enjoyed at the close of the meeting. At the close of the after noon the party was invited into the dining room where a delic ious salad course was served fol lowed by sweets. Mrs. Harvey Church, of Ronda, was an out of town visitor of the club. z¥- Woman’s Bible C’h.ss Met Tuesday Afternoon with the president, Mrs. R. M. Brame. occupying the chair the monthly meeting of the Woman’s Bible class of the North Wllkes- horo Metho.dlst church was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. R. Hix. Hostesses with Mrs. Hix were Mrs. A. B. John ston and Miss Lizzie Hisle and at the close of the afternoon they served the fourteen members at tending tempting refreshments during the social hour. The de- votionals were given by Miss Hisle and Mrs. J. C. Smoot. The class plans to sponsor a food sale at Spainhour-Sydnor’s store on Saturday before Easter. Cfiiored eggs, cakes, and various k nds of food will be on sale. Mrs. Eugiene Trfvette Entertained Her 0?nb Mrs. Eugene Trlvette was hos tess to the members of the Cur rent Topic* Club also four addi tional visitors at her home on Eighth Street Wednesday after noon. The first part of the after noon was given over to roll call and news events after which rook was played at four tables. High score among the visitors went to Mrs. J. E. Spainhour aPd for the club to Mrs. J. D. Schafer. Jonquils and other flowers of tb© season made a festive back ground for the guests. When cards were laid aside a salad course was served. Those present other than club members were Mrs. Spainhour, Mrs. J. E. John son, Mrs. C. D. Coffey, Sr., and Mrs. Walter Newton.
