ed -by 5,404 persons—winners of

erty Theatre will celebrate this
occasion to y announcing the
names of all national -prize win
ners from the 950,000 first -prize,
$25,000 second prize, $10,000

i ’The judges ot th© contest are:
I Mrs. Ogden Reid, Dr. James E.

In the selection of the winning

ed without signatures and identi
fied by a key number. la that way

ants until after they made their
selections.
The motion picture industry is
proud of the success of this con

Pine Ridge Show
Coming Monday
Arthur May. in the cast of th©
new Pine Ridge Show where he
is known as Lem Perkins, is a
product of the Ozark Mountains.
He received his education in a
little log schoolhouse such as
Lincoln attended. The three R’s
were mastered under difficulties
In those rural districts. Modern
conveniences and equipment, such
as modern schools iboast nowa
days, were unheard of.
One or two small windows and
the door where the sun shone
through Tt^re the only lighting
the room afforded. An old stope
fireplace furnished the heat. Flat
slab -benches made from Ozark
pines were the seats. McGuffey’s
Reader and the old “gremi toock”
speller were Lem’s chief worries.
Lem Perkins,' or in real life Ar
thur May, really lives thp old man
character part he iportrays on
the stage.
Miss Helen" Killduff aa Aunt
Charity, Mr. May’s partner, por
trays one of those deer old souls
who makes everybody’s business
her own. You have met the kind.
There Is usually one In eivery
community—knows your affairs:
before you do. H«r brisk -manner
and extreme concern about thl^,
together with her homey expres
sions, bring to mind pictnres of
some busybody you can recall In
your own life.
