has lived here all his life.
He has saved taxpayers millions of dollars on gasoline
and oil in this and surrounding counties.

He has been active in the Democratic party since 1896. He cast his first
vote for the Democratic party in Wilkes County in 1902.

Convention of 1940 when he was left off of a hand-picked list of delegates smd

water works. He used his influence and time for obtaining for North Wilkes
boro the first hard-surfaced streets under the 1915 Municipal Act.
