He has saved taxpayers millions of dollars on gasoline and oil in this and surrounding counties. A member of the Benevolent Order of Elks. A member of the Masonic Lodge. A member of the Jr. O. U. A. M. and-^ A 100 per cent Democrat. He has been active in the Democratic party since 1896. He cast his first vote for the Democratic party in Wilkes County in 1902.
