Power Restrictions
Atlanta, July 7.—Five days of
heavy end almost continuous
rainfall in the mountainous area
of the southeast today had effect
ed a partial lifting of restrictions
covering power consumers
throughout the section ,=ince June
16.
Although general relaxation of
the curtailment progn m affecting
commercial and domestic consum
ers has 'been declared in Georgia
and Alabama, the quota system
of power distribution to non-de
fense industries will continue, it
was declared.
Widespread rains in northwest
ern Georgia filled storage reser
voirs of the Georgia Power com
pany to nearly one-half the norm
al supply and increased stream
and river flows throughout the
region. The power company Sat
urday announced restrictions of
power use in domestic and com
mercial consumer classes had
been lifted fo.r nine days through-
