Dr. and Mrs. A. A. Kent, of Winter Park, , Florida, were guests here over the week-end of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Vyne. Misses Thelma Parks and Es telle Gregory, of Cycle, were vis itors in North Wilkesboro Tues day. Mr. J. P. Brooks, well known citizen of the Traphill commun ity, was a business visitor here Monday. Miss Gray Greene has returned to Barium Springs where she is instructor in music, after spend ing the summer vacation at her home in Wilkesboro. Misses Wilma and Martha Frve. of Hickory, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Cooke on Trogdon Street, this week. -Attorney and Mrs. Kyie Hayes have returned home from an en joyable vacation trip to Manteo, and other places of interest that section of the State. Rev. and Mrs. Watt M. Cooper have reriirned from a vacation trip which inciuded a tour of Florida. Miss Lois Kemp, of I’nion Grove, and Mrs. C. B. Kemp, of North Wiikesboro, spent several Mrs. N. B. Smithey, of Wilkes boro, Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Kirk patrick, of Taylorsvilie. have re turned to their respective homes after enjoying a motor trip to Wrightsvilie Beach. Carolina Beach, and Myrtie Beach. days in Greensboro last week vis iting friend.s and relatives. J. Freeman, of Little Rock, Arkansas, has been here this week visiting the home of Mr. and Mrs, Jack Brame • and with other friends. Mrs. Freeman was the former Miss Mable Top ping and a member of the North Wl'kesboro school faculty. She and Rev. Mr. Freeman have been spending their vacation with their people at Belhaven and Washington, and he will join her here tonight. They will leave Fri day for thier home at Little Hock. Tomlinson is having an attractive and modern eight- room brick residence erected on his lot on F' street. Mr. Bob Maher, who has held a position with the Duke Power company here for the .past few years, has accepted a position with Appalachian Light and Pow er company In Kentucky and has assumed his new duties. Miss Irene Sheets has return ed to her home in Wilkeshoro aft er attending the 4-H short course at State College. She also visit ed her sister, Mrs. P. E. Woodie, in Raleigh, nad spent a few days at Carolina Beach. Miss Ella Bra:ae, Is here for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Brame, before going to Hollins College at Hollins, Va., to resume her work there as college nurse. Miss Brame spent the summer In New York City nurs ing in the Prwbyterian Hospital.
