Yadkin Valley Motor company
has just received another carload
shipment of Ford tractors and
farm Implements.
The new Ford tractors since in
troduced have been found hy ac-
tuai tests to be a source of farm
power with amazing versatility
und dependability and are being
^ used successfully in a wide varie
ty of fajm duties.
With the government, urging
increased production of food and
feed in order to meet require
ments of the defense program and
with farm labor becoming more
scarce and costly, the Importance
of tractor power Is becoming
more apparent each day. The
use of a Ford tractor will save
labor and time, two very impor
tant factors in present day farm^
production, A. F.
Yadkin Valley motor company,
said today.
Yadkin Valley Motor company
will be glad to shbw and demon
strate the Ford tractors and im
plements without cost or obliga
tion to any farmer interested.
Another important tact is that
the dealer here has trained men
to service Ford tractors and ser
vice can be objtained promptly
and without delay.
Two Firms Win
Bus Franchises
Raleigh.—The State Utilities
Com'mission has issued an order
granting to B. O- Wo^le, opera-,
tor of the Sallsbury-Mt. Airy
Coach Company, and the Pied
mont Coach Company franchises
to carry passengers between Win
ston-Salem and Salisbury.
The order was regarded as al
most without precedent, for util
ities commission officials could
not recall a previous case In
I which carriers were granted
[ franchises over the same route in
, the same order.
, I “jcew cases have come before
Kilby, head of; this commission where the Issues
' were so evenly divided,” the or
der said. ‘‘Each applicant ad
mitted that the other could per
form satisfactorily the service ap
plied for. There were about an
equal number of public witnesses
for each applicant . . . The com
mission feels that this js one of
those isolated cases in which the
public need, as well as the inter
est of the applicants, might best
be served by granting the fran
chise to both applicants.
