Just before the sheriff pulled out, Dobbins Indicated he wanted to come to an understanding. “If you’ll take me back to the Yadkin Jail, I’ll tell you some thing,” the sheriff quoted him os saying. The sheriff told him he would take him back to Yadklnville If he would “talk here." "I’m going out of town, but If I possibly can I’ll come back for you tonight,’ he told the prisoner. Upon his return Dobbins told the whole story. Dobbins said he ex pected to get a stiff sentence, the sheriff said. ..... ... According to Dobbins’ story and the story Sheriff Inscore picked up from Mrs. Myers and others, the crime was about as follows: ■Mrs. Myers returned from church well along In the evening and put up her automobile. Douglas Johnson, who resides in the neighborhood, dropped In at about the time she arrived at her store, filling station .-md aparl- mcnt combined. A customer dropped in and bought some gro ceries and departed. Then the man with the gun ap peared witli the lower half of his face masked. Camellus Dobbins, alias ■'Will,” alias “Bad Eye’’, alias "Wiley,” who lives at Greensboro who has spent a great deal of time in the pen and on the roads. His offenses have ranged upward to highway robbery. The youthful prisoner was most agreeable as he prepared to re turn with the Yadkin officers to Yadklnville.
