FRAZIER McNieFs Record: Mr. McNiel has served eight years as Mayor of North Wihkesboro. :.j Has received in fees, not counting salary during his pight years, according to records of City Clerk in, the Mayor’s office. City Hall, approximately |11,200.00. Has received salary according to said records of |4,- 800.00 at $50.00 per month, as provided by the Town Charter, making total received by McNiel of $16,- 000.00, by the end of his present term. If Mr. McNiel had donated the above fees of $11,- 200.00 received by him during his eight years as Mayor after keeping out his salary of $50.00 per month as provided by the Town Charter, it would have provided ^"224,000 hot lunches for hungry, needy children in the schools of North Wilkesboro, at the same rate per meal as furnished, in other schools of the county. Frazier’s Program: Clean government “by the people, of the people, and for the people”. Mr. Frazier proposes: To donate all the fees coming to the Mayor to be spent during the school term for the establishment and maintenance of a Lunch Room to provide hot lunches for the needy school children of North Wilkesboro, and further proposes to appoint the following committee to handle this fund: Mrs. W. R. Absher Mrs. F. C. Forester Mrs. Myrtle Freeland Mrs. C. E. Jenkins Mrs. R. M. Brame. That the City Government will endeavor at all times to create and promote a friendly spirit and good will between the town and county people in order that North Wilkesboro may really be the Friendly City of Northwestern North Carolina. Our program proposes to improve and build better streets and sidewalks for the people of Woodlawn, East Town, and other^outer sections of the town, and to improve the streets leading into the town from the highways to match said highways.
