Mrs. Cobb said His King dom of peace, love, and service, must come through each of us. Airy, *®d conference vice-presi dent, made a most interesting comparison of our nation’s fight ing forces and the work of the Woman’s Society. The govern ment says to our men “go.” and God says to us “go”, and it is Im- peretlve that wq do unite our wo men to service. Onr Woman s 8or clety’s Army is made up of mis sionaries, doctors, teachers, Bible women, deaconesses, and other workers, and onr bases are our schools, settlement houses, or phanages, Weeley Houses, centers, hospitals, and other Ohristtan in stitutions. Reserves are greatly needed to carry on this work, and H' is up to onr women to bring up these Reserves, and they must come from our homes and from our pocketbooks. During the morning session re ports were heard from a number of the district officers including Mrs. Edd F. Gardner, of North WUkeeboro, the new correspond ing secretary of the district. Mrs. Gerdner stated that the district pledge for last year of *2,200 waa paid in full, and pledge for this year was $2,260. She urged that all Societies get their reports m on time, also that those Societies which had not been sending in their reports begin to do so at once. Lunch was served by the hostess church during the noon hour. Ander*on Claimed By Death Charles H. Anderson, a former Wilkes citizen, died Tuesday morning at a government hospital in Augusta, Ga.
