ter from her son. Pvt. Roby Pen
nell. who was captured in the ear
ly part of the Tunisian campaign
and is now a prisoner of the Ger
mans.
Text of the letter follows:
“Dear mother and all; I wrote
March IS, and a oard a few days
ago. In case you haven't receiv
ed it. I say here, due to something
I know little about. We were sur
rounded and my outfit.was wiped
out. What wasn’t killed were cap
tured. we among them. I am
well and the treatment here in
this oamp is good. So don’t wor
ry too much and write a lot. Moth
er, tell Mary, and you all get to-
.aether and see the Red Cross and
see what you can send. I could
use some underclothes, toilet ai-
licles, cigarettes, food and candy.
You can write and tell Mr. and
Mrs. Moore where 1 am us I might
not be able to write them. If and
when you send a package, tell
