Presbyterian Church
Rev. SIDNEY CRANE, Pastor
Have you ever noticed how
widely and freely are used the
words of Jesus about "the abund
ant life”? Social reformers, for
instance, advocate a better wage
for a certain group of people, or
a better market, or something
else to Insure the enjoyment of
“the abundant life”. Or the bus
iness man who simply wants to
sell his merchandise, from tooth
brushes to life insurance, may use
the same phrases in the interest
of the customer—“the abundant
life” Was Jesus talking of com
modities one can buy when He
first spoke these words? Let us
consider them in the morning
service together: “I came that
they may have life, and that they
may have it more abundantly”.
(John 10:10).
At 7:15 the Adults will con
tinue their study of the history of
the Christian church in the days
of persecution. The Young Peo
ple and the Junior Young People
will meet at the same time.
The theme of the evening wor
ship service will be, “I Am the
Good Shepherd”.
On Thanksgiving Day, Thurs- ^
day, November 25th, a Thanks
giving service will be held in the
church at 10 o’clock A. M. An
offering for the Presbyterian Or
phans Home, Barium Springs,
will be received at this service.
