Held Monday Eve
The annual Jug Club dance
was held this year on Monday
evening , at the Woman’s CluD-
house on Trogdon street from 8:30
until 12:00 o’clock. Guests con
sisted of present and former Jug
Club members, high school, and
college boys, and a few boys who
are in, aervlce. DsziciT.g was em-

during the evening punch and
cookies were se|rved.

Arthur Nichols, of the U. S. Ma
rine corps.
CpI. Nichols was a resident of
the Puriear community before en
listing .n the marine corps over
three years ago. He was a mem
ber of the marine forces which
Invaded Guadalcanal, and spent
his rest period In Melbome, Aus-
tialia, where he met Miss Hamp
ton. He is BOW back in the com
bat area -with marines In the
South Pacific.
Date for the marriage has not
been set. Cpl. Nichols Is a son of
the late Mr. and Mra Gordon
Nichols, of Purlear.
