(J.J.A.S) Funeral services for Lt. Claude Peters, husband of the former Miss Helen Irvin, of Wilkesboro, was held June 19 at the Methodist church in New Ulm, Minn., his home town. Lt. Peters was killed near Camp Cooke, California, Sunday, June 11. when a jeep in which he and Agnes Bowlin three others were riding plunged down an embankment. He was In stantly killed but the others were only dazed. Lt, Ellsworth Ostergard, who accompanied Lt. Peters’ body home for burial, stated that Lt. Peters was highly regarded at Camp Cooke and that his death was a shock to his many friends there. At the time of the acci dent Mrs. Peters was on an ex tended visit with his parents at New Ulm, Minn.
