at the Wilkes Hotel Tuesday eve
ning. guests consisting of the
regular employees and the extra
holiday help. Miss Mary Lizzie
Hix, a former employee, was an

four-course dinner was served at

Evelyn Sharpe were hostesses to
the members of the Wesley Blbie ,
class of the North Wllkesboro
First Methodist church in their |
monthly meeting and annual
Christmas party held at the home
of Mrs. Horton Tuesday evening.
Miss Nonle Gordon led the devo-
tionals. Miss Sharpe directed a
contest, and Mrs. Edd F. Gardner,
the president, was in charge of the
business session. The group sang
a number of Christmas carols.
During the social hour an ex
change of gifts were made and the
hostesses served refreshments to
the 21 members present.

to the Women’s Society of
Christian Service of Union Metho
dist church Tuesday afternoon.
The president. Mrs. E. W. Baker,
had charge of the program. She
was assisted by Mrs. J. E. and A.
F. Crysel, Mrs. Aubrey Church,
Mrs. J. R. Pierce and Mrs. D. E.
Turner. The theme was “Christ
mas In Our Homes and Settle
ments.’’
During the business session
plans were made for the annual
Christmas party Tuesday evening,
December 19th, at the home of
Mrs. Turner. |
The hostess, assisted by Miss
Lou Crysel and Mrs. J. R. Pierce,
served delicious refreshments.

mother and sister, Peggy, served
delicious refreshments.

on January 9th.
