Army Wives In Film With Their Husbands Forty army wives, accustomed to the rigors of following their soldier-husbands from camp to camp, got the thrill of their iTves when they were called to report for work at 20th Century-Fox Stu dios to play roles in the film ver sion of Moss Mart's Army Air Forces play, "Winged Victory", which Darryl P. Zanuck produced, and which opens soon at the Allen Theatre. Watch for dates. The girls, each married to a member of the all-Alr Corps cast of the show, were able to remain with their husbands while they served out the ten-week contracts given them by'Mr. Zanuck. Many of the real-life wives play oppo site their husbands in the movie which traces the saga of combat flying training from induction to war-theatre action. While the film was made under George Cukor’s direction, the soldier cast, quartered in a camp at Santa Monica, completed Us training as overseas replacements under the supervision of Lt. Col. Walter M. Dunham, Commanding Officer of the unit. ■V Pfe Dancy Promoted Cherry Point — Marino Private First Class Ira G. Daney, son of Mrs. Myrtle Dancy, of Millers Creek, has been promoted from private to his present rank at this Marine Corps Air Station. He entered the M^ne Corps at Columbia, S. C. circle met Sunday afternoon at 5 p. m. with Miss Lois Little. Miss Sarah Daven port led the devotions. The pres ident, Miss Pensacola Alexander, was in charge of the business pe riod.
