Mr. and Mrs. J. Q. Adams, of this city, Mr. and Mrs. H. P Holshouser, of Blowing Rn^' and Mrs. George Swaim, of Win ston-Salem left yesterday for a two week's trip to Florida. Bowlin, eon of Mr. and Mrs. Foster Bowlin of North Wilkesboro, this week was graduated from one of the world's greatest educational pro grams?one of the Air Training! Command's airplane mechanics j training courses at ' Keesler Field, Miss. The training he re ceived in the mechanics school covered basic airplane nad engine mechanic operations. The techni cal course extended over a period of approximately 16 weeks and included instruction in aircraft' electrical systems, engine opera-1 tion, fuel and oil systems, pro pellers, structures, instruments and basic inspection. This quali fied him for additional special-! ized training in the maintenance j of heavy bombers, cargo planes, jet and rotor aircraft. Mr. Dwight Nichols and chil dren, Bonnie, David and Daniel, were in Winston-Salem Saturday, where Mr. NicholB, editor of The Journal-Patriot, delivered a five minute talk over WSJS as guest speaker on the "News of North west North Carolina" program at 12:46.
