For the program Mr. John Ford, farm forester, will make a talk on trees. ^ HWWWMMWWWWMWWWW Project Winners In 4-H Clubs To Be Given Dinner Banquet Will B e Held Thursday Night at Duke ' Power Co. On Thursday night of this week, the 4-H county champions of "Wilkes county and their parents will be dinner guests of the Duke Power company at the Power company office at 6:30. The principal speaker at this dinner will be Jesse James, assistant State 4-H Club leader. Mr. James, who is a native of Georgia and a graduate of the University of Georgia, has been working with 4-H Club boys and girls in North Carolina for approximately two years. During this time Mr. James has made many friends throughout the State and has contributed much to the 4-H program. Before coming to this state, he served as 4-H Club leader for Fulton county, Georgia, and during the war We have lots of decorated dishes, plates, tea cups and saucers, also decorated 42 piece sets. Proceeds will be An Ordinance To Prohibit the Building of Hog Pens and the Keeping of Hogs Within the Additional Territory Described In Section One of This Ordinance. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in regular session assembled: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to build, erect, or maintain any hog pens, or to keep any hogs or pigs within the following described territory, being within the limits of the Town of North Wilkesboro and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of F and Sixth Streets and running southwest with F Street to the intersection of F and Ninth Streets; thence northwest .jnith Ninth Street to I Street; thwice west with I Street to Trogdon Street; thence north with Trogdon Street to intersection of Trogdon Street and Trogdon Avenue; thence east with Trogdon Avenue to Hinshaw Street; thence southeasterly following Hinshaw Street to the intersection or junction of Hinshaw, I and Sixth Streets; thence southeast with Sixth Street to intersection of F and Slixth Streets, the point of beginning. Section 2. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate Section One hereof shall pay a penalty of $5.00 per day for each and every day that said ordinance is violated. Section 3. That this ordinance does not and shall not repeal any ordinance now in force and effect and shall be in addition thereto. Section 4. That should any part or section of tins ordinance be declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder thereof shall not be affected thereby but shall remain in full force and effect. Section. 5. This ordinance shall become effective on the first day of March, 1948. Ratified this 4th day of November, 1947. Mrs. Carrie Church Is Taken By Death Mrs. Carrie Church, 70, well known resident of the Rondfl community, died Sunday after* noon at her home.
