City, at 5 o'clock this .afternoon.

by Dr. W. G. Bond in perform
ing the ceremony in the First
Baptist church. Mm. G. P. Eg
gers and Miss Rachel Vance
were musicians.
Honor attendants for the bride,
who was escorted by her broth
er, A. R. Hamby, were her sis
ter, Mrs. Vaught Mast, and Miss
Thelma Farthing. Bridemaids
were Mrs. Clyde Groover, .of At
lanta, Ga., Mrs. Eslie Miller, of
Durham, Mrs. A. E. Hamby, and
Mm. Lloyd Isaacs. Linda Mast
the bride's niece and Rachel
Rivers, were flower girls.
The bridegroom's father ? was
best man. Ushers were Hector
Venegas, of Ponce, Puerto Rico;
Robert Simmons, of Winston-Sa
lem; Lewis Bartley, of Roanoke
Rapids; Robert Franklin, of
Rutherford, N. J.; Lyle Oooke
and Charles Rogers, Jr.
The bridal gown had a lace
yoke and epaulettes. The veil of
French illusion was held by a
seed pearl" coronet. The bride
[carried a white orchid on a pray
er book.
The honor attendants wore
hooped skirted Victorian frocks
of burnt gold faille and carried
orchid chrysanthemums in cres
ent bouquets. Emerald green
taffeta was worn by the bride
maids, whose bouquets and head
dresses were of bronze chrysan
themums. The flower girls were
in white.
After the reception at the
Hamby home, Mr. and Mrs. Ross
left for Washington and New
York.
The bride received a bachelor
of science degree from Woman's
College, Greensboro, and is sec
retary- to the dean of the School
of Commerce, University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
The bridegroom attendee High
Point College and is now a stu
dent at the University.,
.The groom's mother is the
former Miss Bernice Ulrich, of
this city.

Students of the vocational
home economics department of
North Wilkesboro high school
under direction of Miss Ruby
Dancy made a most interesting
exhibit at the Wilkes fair last
week.
Students who made articles for
the exhibit, including clothing,
canned foods and other articles,
were Margie - Billings, Anita
Brown, Florence Gilreath, Joe
Anne Lenderman and Betty Jean
Wells.
