Mrs. Verdone, the former Miss Emily McCoy, is the only daughter of the McCoys. The guests, welcomed in the lob by by Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hix and Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Grier, were greeted on the mezzanine floor by Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Faw, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Lan don, and presented to the re ceiving line by Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Kilby. Receiving with Mr. and Mrs. MoCoy were Dr. and Mrs. Ver done, Rev. ana Mre- Watt M. Cooper, and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Watt, of Charlotte, Jhcle and aunt of the bride, and at whose home the wedding took place. Misses Norma Stevenson, Lucy Finley, and Evelyn Little served green and white ices from the bride's table spread with-a white cloth and centered with a silver bowl of white chrysanthemums, about which white candles gleam ed in silver candalabras. Mr. and Mrs.Kendrick Waugh, Misses Ruth Norris, Mary Elmore Finley, and Lucille Casey presided at the punch bowl. Music was provided by Misses Grace Frank Kilby, Mary Lou ise Clements, and Corinne Faw, and Mrs. J. L. Clements and Jdrs. Carl Coffey were in charge of the gift room. Goodbyes were spoken to Mr. and Mn. Gordon Finley. Those assisting the hosts dur ing the last hour, when dancing was enjoyed, were Mr. and Mrs. Blair Gwyn, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Vickery, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Derr, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Don Story, Mrs. Mary Moore Hix, Miss Helen Phil lips, and Miss Muriel Coyken dall. The bridal note was predomi nant for decorations in the ball room and mezzanine floor, while mixed autumn blossoms were usee in the lobby. This year's record corn crop has resulted in a decline in feed prices. u World demand for wool is ex pected to continue strong in 1948-49.
