To keep your Christmas merry, and to make sure that you can enjoy life after Christmas, practice safety during the holi day season on the highways, hunting trips or whatever form of enjoyment and rec reation you choose. Use just a little extra care to protect yourself and others during the holiday reason and don't gamble your life against a few minutes time. A taxi driver in New York City, with no accidents in 20 years driving, attributed his success to the fact that he drove his taxi as if every other driver was a crazy fool. LIFE'S BETTER WAY WALTER E. ISENHOUR High Paint, N. C., Route 4 THE BLESSEDNESS OF CHRISTMAS CHRIST: That always sounds good. There is no other time of the year, no other event, that means so much to uis. Ou: ijftinds go back to lfcthlehOm of Judea, U the manger, and to the shepherds tha kept their flocks, and to the wonderfu song of the angels, -when talk Of Christ mas, and when we celebrate the birth 01 our blessed Savior. We knotf that Ifii 'birth meant more to the world than anj other birth that has ever taken place, oi ever will. He came as the only begotter Son of God to save us from all our sins, and to make Is possible that we may live foi God and reach heaven. Hallelujah! Nc wonder the angels sang, "Glory to God ir the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." (Luke 2:140 No wonjdei the shepherds left their flocks and went to Bethlehem, and to the manger, to find and worship Jesus. CHRISTMAS: To many of we thinl back across the years when we were children in the old home, when father anc mother living, and when we were happj in the unbroken family circle, talking ol and getting ready for Christmas. W? think of the blazing fire in the great fire place, of the good things mother prepared for us to eat, and of how we hung up (oui stockins on Christmas eve for Santa Claus to fill them that night. We could hardly wait until morning came to see what our stockings on Christmas eve for Santa Claus were at Christmas time to candy, nuts, apples, cakes and pies, and to say to one another, "Christmas gift!" Well, to many of us these days are long in the past. Father and mother have gone to meet Jesus, our brothers and sisters are scatt ered here and there, and maybe some of them have crossed the bar, and the old home has disappeared, or seems so, diff erent. Maybe today our eyes are dim with tears as we think of those far off days in the past when our hearts were young and gay, and when it seemed so long from one Christmas to another. However, it is sweet and comforting to think of the time when we shall meet our loved ones who have gone before, and there look upon the blessed Babe of Bethlehem who is now Lord of lords apd King of kings sing and shout His praises forever, and be like Him. Hallelujah! Soon the blessed ness of Christmas will end in the blessed ness of glory with God's saints. Oranfoix!
