' The Carolinian, C. H. iBunn, asked the high court to rule that the fine, imposed undqj- a Dur ham city ordinance violated the federal Constitution's guarantee of religious liberty. Bunn appealed from a decision by the North Carolina Supreme Court which upheld "the fine with this comment: "The case comes to a very simple question—which is superior, the public safety, or the defendant's religious prac tice? The authorities are as one in holding that the safety of the public comes first." Forever Amber Author Wedded third Time Savannah, Ga., April 4.—A woman who put sex on sale in book form, Kathleen (Forever Amber) Winsor, was on her third honeymoon today, this time with a New York attorney, Arnold Krakower. The couple was married here yesterday by blind Municipal Judge Victor H. Mulling. Mrs. Mulling, who interrupted her housecleaning to appear as a witness, said the bride was dress ed in a sray suit with matching accessories but no hat. The judge's wife said Miss Winsor did not appear nervous. Mrs. Krakower's two previous trips into the wedding ring were with (1) Bob Herwig, California football star and Marine hero of World War II, and (2) Band Leader Artie Shaw. The bride-groom was a Valen tine day divorcee of 1941 In Mi ami, Fla. His first wife was granted a final decree on the grounds of extreme mental cruel ty. Miss Windsor's chief claim to fame Is the authorship of "For ever Amber," a novel laid in "Merrie Olde Englande." Krakower said in New York last week he met Misg Winsor while working out a property set tlement for her in her divorce suit against Shaw. Krakower, 33, is a Harvard Law school graduate, and a form er lieutenant colonel. Lions Report Clean Sweep In Salisbury Salisbury, April 4.—Somebody is getting ready to make a clean sweep of something in Salisbury.
