CLARK, NOTICE FOR HOLDING A SPECIAL ROAD AND SCHOOL BOND ELECTION ON JUNE 4, 1949. • To the Voters of Wilkcg County: THIS IS TO NOTIFY YOU that in accordance with .the proclamation q£ the Governor of North (Carolina; and, in accordance with the Election Laws of the State of North Carolina governing Special Elections; and, in pursuance to the resolutions of the State Board of Elections, THIS IS TO NOTIFY YOU that a Special Election for Road Bonds and School Bonds will be held on the 4th day of June, 1949. The maximum amount of the proposed school bonds shall be TWENTY-FIVE MILLION ($28,000,000.00) DOLLARS for th<» purpose of construction, maintenance and repairs of school plants within the State of North Caro lina. The maximum amount of the proposed road bonds shall be TWO HUNDRED MILLION ($200,000,000.00) Dollars, said amount to be used for the construction and maintenance of secondary roads within the State of North Carolina; and, That a tax of lc per gallon on gasoline will be levied for the payment thereof. The registration books for the election will be opened on Saturday, May 7th., on Saturday, May 14th, and on Saturday* May 21st., for the registration of those eligible to register who are not now registered on the general election books, and those already registered on the regular county registration books will not have to reregister to vote in this special selection on June 4, 1949; and, the books shall then be open for .challenge on May 28, 1949, at each precinct polling place. The places at which the election will be held, and the further registration had, will be at the regular voting places in the various precincts within the said County at which the last preceding election was held for members of the General Assembly.
