Henderson, and Mr. Henderson. Mrs. L. C. Beddingfield and Mr. and Mrs. L>. C. Beddingfield, Jr., of Raleigh, are guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay H. Johnson. Mrs. Archie Yates returned home today from Winston-Salem, where she spent eight days while taking treatment at the Baptist hospital. Mrs. Tam S. Hutchinson and son, Tam, Jr., born April 22 at the Wilkes hospital, are spending a few days with Mrs. Hutchinson's mother, Mrs. H. G. Nichols. Mr. D. V. Deal, secretary of the Northwestern Bank, attended the North Carolina Bankers Convention held in Pinehnrst Sunday until Wednesday. Mrs. Kenneth Moore, of Wilkesboro, has been a patient at Davis hospital in Statesvllle since Monday, when she underwent/ a major operation. Mrs. Moore Is recovering. Mr. and' Mr».' Kenneth Clarke of Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada, are Visiting Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Wood, of North Wilkesboro, this week. Mrs. Clarke is the sister of Mr. Wood. Mrs. D. T. Bush Is a patient at Community Hospital in Danville, Va. Mrs. Bush is a former resident of North Wilkesboro, and is the mother of Mr. Buster Bush, of this city. Henry and Libby Absher, children of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Absher, are making satisfactory improvement at their home now on D Street, after undergoing tonsilar operations at the Wilkes Hospital Monday. Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert R. Combs, Mr. R. J. Hinshaw, Mr. Richard Johnston, and Miss Jo Lassiter attended a meeting.of the Statesvllle district held Friday at New Salem Methodist church near Statesvllle. Mr. W. D. Halfacre, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Finley attended the North Carolina Bankers Association convention as representatives of the 'Bank of North Wilkesboro. The convention opened in Pinehurst Sunday and continued through Tuesday. Mrs. J. E. Greer, of Boomer, returned home Friday from Lexington, where she visited her sister, MrB. G. E. Berrier, who has been a patient at Lexington Memorial hospital. Mrs. Berrier is the former Miss Ule Ferguson, of Boome^r. Mr. J. P. Jenrette, who holds a position with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture marketing division, with headquarters in Ashevllle, was a business visitor here today and while here visited his brother, Mr. Tom Jenrette. Mr. John Wright, of Independence, Va., brother of Mra. James Hubbard, 6f Wilkeeboro, is ill in a hospital at Wytheville, Va., where he underwent a major operation. Mrs. Hubbard has been visiting him and relative? In Independence and Galax this week. Mrs. J. H. Johnson and daughter, MIsb Sam Johnson, have parchased a lot on Cherry street in Wllkesboro, opposite the new home of Mr. Sherman Anderson.
