MISff MAJOS SOCK WELL — EDITOR Casey-Wilson Engagement Announced Mrs. Andrew Harrison Casey, of North Wilkeshoro, announces the engagement of her older daughter, Anne Lucille, to Mr. George Campbell Wilson, son of Mrs. George Sparrow Wilson, of Belmont. The wedding is to take place in the early fall. Miss Carol Glass Speaks Vows With Mr. Don Losey In a lovely home ceremony on Saturday afternoon, June 18, Miss Carol Glass, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Glass, of Wilkesboro, became the bride of Mr. Don Losey, of Wilkesboro, son of Mrs. George Losey, of Mil waukee, Wisconsin, and the late Mr. Losey. Rev. Woodrow Brook shire, pastor of the Wilkesboro Baptist church, was the officiat ing minister. Mixed white flowers with gladioli predominating, white white candles, and greenery formed a bridal setting for the vows spoken at four o'clock. Wedding music was provided by Mrs. R. E. Prevette, pianist, and Miss Ruby Wilson, Granite Falls, soloisj. In prelude Mrs. Prevette rendered a program of nuptial music, Miss Wilson sang "Because" and "O Promise Me'', and as the vows were spoken the pianist played softly "Dreams of Twilight." Lohengrin's bridal chorus was used for the proces sional. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by her sister, Mrs. Glenn Sheek, Yadkinville, as matron of honor; Miss Genevieve Losey, Milwau kee, Wis., sister of the groom, bridesmaid; Miss Barbara Losey, Milwaukee; and Sonny Stark, Watertown, Wis., niece and nephew of the groom, were jun ior bridesmaid and ring bearer. Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. C. G. Glass, Jr., Wilkesboro, sister-in-law of the bride; Mrs. D. R. Wright, Jr., Canton; and Mrs. R. V. Hancock, Arlington, Va., cousins of the bride. The groom had for his beet man his brother, Frank Losey, Milwaukee, and the ushers were C. G. Glass, Jr., and Jack Glass, both of Wilkesboro, brothers of the bride. The 'bride's wedding gown of candlelight satin was fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves, and a full skirt ending in a short train. Her fin-l gertip veil of bridal illusion was caught with a crown of seed pearls, and she carried an orchid. The matron of honor dressed in pink and the bridesmaid in blue had for their flowers old fashioned bouquets of mixed flowers. The junior bridesmaid wore a yellow dress and carried mixed flowers arranged in bas ket effect, and the ringbearer wore a white suit. Immediately following the ceremony an informal reception was held, after which the bridal couple left for a wedding trip to Milwaukee and other points out west. For travel the bride chang ed to a green linen suit with white accessories, and pinned her orchid at her shoulder. Upon their return the couple will be at home in Wilkesboro. Mrs. Losey, a graduate of the Appalachian State Teachers Col lege at Boone, served in the WAC for eighteen months being sta tioned most of the time in Flor ida. She now holds a position with the Bank of North Wilkes boro. Mr. Losey, who served in the U. 13. Air Corps for two and one half years, attended the Milwau kee School of Engineering. He is now in business with Mr. Glass, Sr., in the Wood Work Shop near Wilkesboro. C Foster-Gaddy Nuptials Planned For July Mr. and Mrs. Max Foster, of North Wilkesboro, announce the engagement of their daughter, Betty Lou, to Mr. William Fred Brick Gaddy, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. The wedding will take place in July. 7 Dukes and Duchesses Have Dance On Friday evening, June 10, two newly formed clubs, the Dukes and Duchesses, entertain ed at a formal dance. Around twenty-five couples were present for the occasion. The Woman's club hous«, where the dance was held, was beautifully decorated with col ors of both clubs. The Duchess members are as follows: Peggy Harris, Ann Lott, Anne Carlton, Betty Jo Reavjs, Betty Whicker, Norma Gabriel, Carolyn Deans, Margie Kenerly and Nell Gwyn Brame. The members of the Dukes are the following: Carl Swof ford, Bill Reins, Gordon Forest er, James Glllean, Wayne Par due, Kyle Eller, Charles Starnes, Johnny Winkler and George Johnston. "These clubs don't do any thing especially, but do have a good time. We wish to thank the members of the Woman's club who made it possible for us to use their clubhouse," a club spokesman stated.
