BOCAL NEWS Classes of the Clevenger Col lege of Business Administration in Wllkesboro visited the plant and offices of Chatham Manufac turing company In Elkin Tues day. Mrs. Phoebe White, Mrs. Opal Williams, Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander, all of Statesvllle, spent Sunday with their sister, Mrs. C. R. Walker, and family, of Hays. Mr. Louis A. Floro, Sr., Mr. Ken Merrigan, Mr. George Cart er and Mr. Ed Liwoch, of Cam den, N. J., will return home to morrow after visiting Mr. Floro's son, Mr. Louis Floro, in this city. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Wayland and children, Parker and Albert, of Fredericktown, Mo., are spend ing this week with Mr. Way land's brother, Dr. John T. Way land, and family. Mr. T. M. Foster, Mr. J. C. Reins, and Mr. Reins' daughter, Miss Becky Reins, and two of her friends, Misses Pattie Ga briel and Peggy Creasman, are spending several days this week at Harkers Island. Misses Donna Smith and Betsy DougMon, Harry Steele and Phil Lomax, are attending this week a Methodist camp for In termediate boys and girls near Hendersonville. The young peo ple are from the North Wilkes boro First Methodist church. Mr. G. C. McGlamery, Jr., of Washington, D. C., is spending two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. McGlamery, near Millers Creek. Mr. McGlamery holds a position in the office of Jefferson Standard Life Insur ance company in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wenzel are leaving Friday for their home in New York City following a two weeks visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Johnson. On Tuesday the Johnsons and Wenzels, ac companied by Mrs. R. H. Shell and Miss Dot Shell, visited Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Starnes at Hen dersonville, and also had a sight . seeing trip to Chimney Rock. Mr. G. D. Potter, who has been in school at the University of Chicago, visited. his brother, Mr. Roland Potter, here during the first of this -week before re turning to his home at Charles ton, W. Va. Miss Ruth, King Wood, of Abingdon, Va., will "arrive here July 1st to begin her work as director of religious education ] for the Presbyterian church. ! ' j \ j Mr. and Mrs. Donald Moffatt were in Whiteville for the week end and on Saturday they attend ed the wedding of Miss Marjorie Newsome Jones and William Philip Greer, Jr., which was sol emnized in the first Baptist church. Mr. Moffatt was an ush er in the wedding. Mrs. Wm. R. Kuenzel and chil dren, Diane and Billie, of Miami, Florida, are visiting Mrs. Kuen zel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. T. Trivette, who are now resid ing at the Don Story residence In Wilkesboro. Mrs. Kuenzel will return to Miami after a visit of several days here and the chil dren wffl remain through the summer. Mrs. Bob DVy and Miss Lucille Casey are leaving Friday morn ing for Belmont to attend the final prenuptial courtesies and wedding of Miss Jean Bradley and William Jennings Dixon, Jr. In the wedding, which is to take place Saturday evening, eight o' clock, at the First Baptist church, Mrs. Day will «ttend the bride as matron of honor and Miss Casey as bridesmaid. Mrs. R. T. McNeil and Mrs. A. H. Cas ey will go down Saturday for the wedding.
