Mrs. Claude Gentry is dietician at Camp Yonahlossee, a girls' camp located near Blowing Rock. Mrs. J. W. White has returned from Kenansville where she visit ed for several days with Mrs. Thad Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sloop left Sunday for a week's vacation to Washington, D. C., and other points of interest. Mrs. Lincoln Spainhour and children, Mary, Jimmy, and Sid, are now spending some time in Dayton a Beach, Florida. Mrs. R. G. Johnson and son, Michael, have returned to their home" at Lakeland, Florida, after spending a few weeks with her mother, Mrs. Oma McLain. She was accompanied home by her sister. Miss Ruth McLain. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Grayson, of Baltimore, Md., are spending this week with relatives in the Wil kesboros. Mr. Eliaha Bumgarner Is spend ing several days at Goldsboro with his brother, Mr. Harrell Bumgarner, and family. Mrs. Melvln Stahl and Bon, John, and daughter, Martha, of Wrlghtsvllle Beach, are visiting Mrs. Stahl's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Jennings, at Pores nob. Mrs. D. H. Fields, of Mouth-of Wllson, Va., is here this week to be with her daughter, Miss Carol Fields, who is a patient of the Wilkes hospital. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Brzostow ski, of Washington, D. C., spent the week-end here with Mrs. Brx stowski's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivey Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McNeill, of Granite Falls, visited 'far. and Mrs. E. E. Eller and other rela tives and friends here this week. Mrs. W. A.'Holder and her sis ter, Miss Rhetta Forester, of Sumter, S. C., are spending the summer at their farm near Wll kesboro. > Pfc. Jack Badgett, who is now stationed in the air corps at Camp Gordon, Ga., spent the week-end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Badgett. Mr. and Mrs. John Gray Ken erly, of Mooresville, are spending their vacation at Pores Knob with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. Jen nings. Mrs. Sallle H. McPherson re turned to Raleigh Tuesday after spending the week-end with her mother, Mrs. L. A. Hauser, and other relatives In North Wilkes boro. Mr. R. T. Minton has returned to Vidalia, Ga., after spending the week-end with his aunts, Misses M. E. and Victoria Nich ols, of Wilkesboro route one, relatives and friends here. - Miss Nell Hubbard returned to Louisville Monday after spend two weeks In Wilkesboro with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius C. Hubbard. Miss Hubbard has a secretarial position with the University of Louisville Institute of Industrial Research. Cpl. Robert S. McLaln is spend ing a 20-day furlough with his mother, Mrs. Oma McLaln. He has been stationed at El Paso, Texas, since he enlisted In the army In August last year. Mr. S. R. Laws, of Washington, D. C., Is visiting his father, Mr. R. .Don Laws, at Moravian Falls t&is week. He will be accompa nied home by hlsjlaughter, Miss Martha Laws, who has been visit ing in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Dough ton" spent the week-end at Sparta with Mrs. Doughton1* mother, Mrs. Bess Splcer, and on Sunday aft ernoon, accompanied by Mm. Splcer, the Doughtons visited their daughter, Miss Jody Dough ton, who is spending two weeks at Camp Shirley Rogers near Roaring Gap. Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Combs, Jr., and daughter, Miss Rathmarie Combri, of Raleigh, are spending the week here with Mr. Combs' parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert R. Combs. Mr. Ivey Moore and three sons, Messrs. Dudley, Jim and Edward Moore, returned last week from a three weeks trip to Longmont, Colorado: While there they visit ed with Mr. Moore's cousin, Mr. Lee Powell. % Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Miller, Sr., have as guests in their home for the week Mrs. J. M. Blue, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Miss Dorothy Shields, Scotland Neck; and Miss Marion Hunter, of Charlotte. Their guests for the past week end included Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hobbs and Mr. and *Mrs. Raleigh Putnam, all. of Cherryyille, and Mr. and Mrs. William Wllborn, of Lexington. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kellett and children, Judith, Sherry, and Mary Jane, and a neighbor, Ann Fry, were Joined by kr^u Kel lett's brother, Thomas Whicker of North Wilkesboro yesterday for a trip to Crescent Beach, S. C., where the Kelletts have a cottage for a month. Mr. Kellett will make week-end trips to the coast. —Greensboro Daily News, July 2nd. Rev. Fred H. Shinn and son, Jerry, of Cooleemee, are spend ing this week at Mr. Johnson Sanders' cottage at Oxford Lake near Taylprsville. Rev. Mr. Shinn is a former pastor of the Wil keaboro Methodist church. Mr. Edwin Waugh, of New York City, spent the Fourth of July here with hip sister, Mrs. J. H. Johnson. Mr. Waugh is a na tive of North Wilkesboro and was formerly connected with the printing industry here. He is now manager of the composing room department of the Law Journal in New Tork. He has gone to Lex ington, Raleigh, and Clinton to visit other North Carolina rela tives. Misses Betsy, Becca, and Jon Lee Doughton spent the week end at Gladys, Va., as guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hight Dotson, and were accompanied home by the Dotson's daughters, Misses Alice and Lillian Dotson, who are spending the week with Miss Christine McNeill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McNeill.
