170 visitors pushed the total at
tendance |to an all-time high of
8.850.
With another day and a half
to go before Saturday noon clos
ing, a 6.000 attendance total la
in sight./Today's market patrons
sent th%' total thus far well past
the previous market record of
5,680.
The/ unprecedented number of
buyer? who registered from 23
states was eren less Indicative
of the growing stature of the
exposition here than the number
of retail furniture outlets these
5,8'50 buyers represented.
Market Manager Paul Casey
said the registrants may average
lees than two per store. Duripg
recent markets' the ratio of buy
ers to stores was In excess of
two. *
Most exhibitors settled back
today to await the market clos
ing. Some buyers are expected
on Friday but for most manufac
turers the market virtually end
ed yesterday. In the majority of
cases the 300-odd furniture mak
ers who placed their wares on
display here have written bus
iness perhaps in excess of pre
market anticipations.

Truman Calls For
Sharing Atom Data
Washington, July 28.—Presi
dent Truman said today a new
long range policy of sharing
atomic information with Britain
and Canada must be worked out
—and promised that Congress
will help make the decision.
Amid reports that the British
are seeking latest know-how on
the atomic bomb, Truman told
his news conference in a state
ment that present rules of co
operation among the three na
tions are ''limited in scope and
duration."
These, he said, Involve ex
change of certain scientific and
technical information and "col
laboration on matters of raw
material supply of common con
cern.''
The United States must depend
to a large extent on Britain and
Canada for the basic bomb raw
material, uranium, Britain la
presumably in a position to put
pressure on the United States
tor a greater share tn atomic
tacts than she has been getting.
The statement said the three
nations will hold basic talks on
questions involved in tiling long
range policy
He emphasized that "these ex
ploratory conversations" will In
volve no agreements or commit
ments by the U. S. on these
questions. They will precede fur
ther talks with Congress.
"In these consultations with
Congress, we shall hare to de
cide together what course of ac
tion it Is wisest to take," Tra
man said.
