Casey-Wilson Vows Are Spoken In Church Ceremony Miss Anne Lucille Casey and George Campbell Wilson, of Bel mont, were married in a lovely ceremony, which took place Sat urday evening, September the third, at the First Baptist church. The bride is the older daughter of Mrs. Andrew Harri son Casey, of North Wilkesboro, and the late Mr. Casey, and the! groom is a son of Mrs. George I Sparrow Wilson, of Belmont, andi the late Mr. Wilson. I Dr. John T. Wayland, pastor j of the bride, heard the vows at | six o'clock, using the double ?ring ceremony. Tall baskets of white gladioli against a back-1 ground of ferns and smilax, j lighted white tapers in five sev en-branched candlelabra, deco | rated the church. I Wedding music was furnished by Miss Lois Scroggs, organist, Miss Martha Lue Frazier and John T. Cashion, as soloists. In prelude Miss Scroggs rendered a program of sacred wedding mus ic, Miss Frazier sang, "The Greatest of These Is Love" (Bit good), Mr. Cashion "Through the Years" (Youmans), and as a benediction they sang to-i gether "O Perfect Love" (Barn by). The traditional wedding marches were used for the pro fessional and recessional. Mr. William Eller Casey gave I his sister in marriage. Miss Mary Ann Casey, sister of the bride, maid of honor, Mrs. Bob F. Day, [matron of honor, and the brides i maids were Miss Ann Campbell, Salisbury, cousin of groom; Miss Alma Casey, Cycle, cousin of bride; Mrs. James Dalton, Ashe ville, and Mrs. W. Jennings Dix on, Charlotte. Best man for the groom was | Cornelius Harold Williard, Jr., High Point; and serving as ush [ers were James L. Wilson, Bel mont, brother of groom; Bern ard L. Jessup, Jr., Concord, Frank Neal Houston and Joe R Stillwell, both of Charlotte. The bride wore a gown of candlelight Duchess satin fash ioned with a fitted bodice, square neckline and long sheath sleeves ending in a point over the hand. The full skirt gathered to tho bodice with corded detail termi nated in a peacock spread of train. Her chapel-length veil of imported illusion fell from a cap [of illusion and pearls. She car ried a bouquet of gardenias [ showered with tube roses. Dresses for the bride's attend [ ants were of gold satin brocade made with fitted bodices and [portrait necklines. The full skirts slightly longer in the back fea tured the design in the material making a V from the waistline to the floor. Their bouquets of purple asters, in varying shades, arranged similar to the bride's bouquet, were tied with laven der ribbon. Mrs. Casey, mother of the bride, chose a gown of cornflow er blue crepe embroidered at the neckline with bugle beads. Mrs. Wilson, mother of the groom, was dressed in emerald green crepe with bead trim. Both wore purple orchids. | Following the ceremony the bride's mother entertained at a I reception at the Woman's club on Trogdon Street, after which the bridal couple left for^ a wed ding trip through Western North Carolina. For travel the bride changed to a striped Forstmanj suit with which she used taupe accessories. Her shoulder co> sage was of gardenias. The bride, since her gradu ation from Meredith College in Raleigh, has held a position as case worker with the depart ment of Public Welfare in Yad kin County. The groom, who at tended Belmont Abbey at Bel mont, is a graduate of the Tex tile School at the North Caro lina State College in Raleigh, where he was a member of Sigma Nu, Social fraternity. He served as a First Lieutenant and pilot in the Army Air Force and now holds a position with the Knit Products in Belmont where the couple will make their home. The date of the bridal couple'? marriage marked the fifty-fifth wedding anniversary of the bride's maternal grandparents 1 Dr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson Eller. The Reception At the reception Mr. and Mrs. R. T. McNiel were at the door to welcome the guests, who wer? presented by Mr. and Mrs. A. F Kilby to the first receiving line composed of the bride's and groom's mothers, and members of the wedding party. Mr. and Mis. C. B. Eller introduced guests to the second receiving line whicv included relatives of the bridal couple; Mr. and Mrs. William L Campbell, and Mrs. Frank Gam ble, ay of Salisbury; Mr. and Mrs. Miles S. Carpenter, of Char lotte, uncles and aunts of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Silas B Casey and Mr. Paul W. Casey, all of High Point, and Dr. R. P. Casey, uncles and aunts of the bride. Mrs. Edd F. Gardner and Mrs. Boyd Stout presided at the punch bowl and assisting with thf serving were Misses Carolyn Casey and Sandra Casey, of High Point; Myra Carpenter and Katie Carpenter, of Charlotte; Flor ence Moore, of Graham; Hiwatha Lupo, Green Sea, S. C.; Geral dine Caldwell and Harriet' Crutchfield. , Mrs. Tal S. Barnes, Sr., di rected guests to the bride's reg ister which was in charge of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smoak and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Watts. Goodbyes [ were said by Mr. and Mrs. Chal McNiel and Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Sturdivant. Bridal decorations of green and white were used about the spacious room of the clubhouse, which was lighted chiefly with floor lamps. Large ferns and cle matis made a background for the setting, and the punch table, spread with a white Maderia cloth, was decorated with white candles in silver holders, white (lowers, and greenery. LOCALS Mrs. Lane Atkinson is a pa tient at the Wilkes hospital fol lowing an operation there last week. Friends are glad to know she is recovering. Miss Retta Myers, of Raleigh, visited here last week in the home of Mr. and Mrs.. A. M. Church and with other relatives and friends. Mr. Bill Harmon is home from Winston-Salem spending his La bor Day vacation with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Har mon. Little Miss Sarah Meadows, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Meadows, of Pores Knob, re cently spent a few days in Tay lorsville as guest of Catherine Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Davis.
