There were 16 members present. Mrs. Aaron Brooks acted as hostess, assist ed by M^s. Wm. Hearn, co-hos tess. The meeting was opened by the president. After the devo tionals all joined in singing "Home On The Range." The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The business was then taken up. There being many items to discuss, the bus iness hour was quite interesting. Perhaps the most outstanding discussion was the concession booth our club will sponsor on "Farmers' Day", October 13. We are hoping to see our clubhouse started in the very "near future. The plat has been clear ed and graded. We were very glad to have Miss Ruth Thompson, assistant Home Demonstration agent, with us and I'm sure everyone enjoy ed her discussion on Transplant ing Shrubs. She gave us many good points on this subject. She had several large sketches which were passed around for all to see the proper way to prune and transplant shrubs. The meeting was brought to a close with a prayer by Mrs. Claude Deal. Very tempting refreshments were served and all enjoyed the social hour.?By Club Reporter. Mt. Airy Officer Is Stuck With Bogus Bill Mt. Airy, Oct. 7?Of all the counterfeit bills that were pass- , ed in the Granite City last week only one person was unable to get his money back?Capt. How ard Sumner of the local police department and chief investlga tor of the force. Believe it or not Capt. Sum ner was showing a few of his friends the difference between a counterfeit $10 and a good one. He took a $10 bill from his bill fold and had a bad one from the pile that had been turned in. He placed the two on a white sheet of paper and pressed down to show that the ink from the good bill would come off and the ink on a counterfeit bill was dry and could not be removed. Before the attraction was com pleted a Secret Service agent ?aw the bill and told Captain Sumner that both bills were counterfeit, and sure enough the test proved it. A Greene County farmer, W. D.
