Cranberry Wins Again 33 To 0 When Cranberry and Millers Creek high school football teams clash the score has a habit of being Cranberry S3 and Millers Creek 0. The two teams met at Cranber ry Friday afternoon and the score was the same, S3 to 0. That was the Identical score when Cranberry played Millers Creek at Millers Creek earlier in the season. The Millers Creek lads drove to the 25 In opening minutes and the drive hogged down. Cranber ry "put on a march and the scor ing play was a 40-yard rnn a round end by Buchanan, who was a "thorn in the flesh" all afternoon for Millers Creek. The next Cranberry score was a thrilling 80-yard sprint, and the third came on a line plunge. An intercepted pass on the 10 set up the fourth and Cranberry drove 40 yards after a Millers Creek fumble for the final marker. Points were made on running plays. Crysel in the line played well for Millers Creek. Crane was good In the backfield on defense. The Millers Creek team played better than the score indicated. In the starting lineup for Mil lers Creek were: ends, Whitting-I ton and Elledge; tackles, Cryse! and Kanupp; guards, Schneider and Wellborn; center, R. Kilby; quarterback, Osborne; halfbacks, Church and Crane, fullback.! Pierce. Substitutes were Ashley, Westheimer, Eller, Faw and! Another pleasant duty of the commissioner of agriculture was crowning of the Farmers' Day beauty queen, Miss Agnes Rey nolds, of the Mulberry commun ity. Miss Reynolds, a North Wll kesboro high school senior, was chosen queen earlier in the day from a group of eight high school seniors who had been chosen to represent their respect ive schools. Commissioner Ballentine also drew the name for the winner of the purebred Guernsey calf given by Coble Dairy products company. The registered calf was carried during the parade on the Coble float. Winner of the calf j was Miss ,. Ashley, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Ash ley, of the Cricket community. Joe King, of Winston-Salem, put on one of the best comedy acts ever staged in this commun ity and he kept the crowd in an uproad with "Brandwine" as his aide. During the afternoon program M. E. Gardner, head of the hor ticulture department of State College, spoke briefly. He was presented by J. B. Williams.
