Fos- ! ter. | Mrs. Lura Nichols Rites Held Sunday Funeral services were held Sunday morning for Mrs. Lura Nichols, wife of the late Mr. J. F. Nichols. She reached the age of 70 years, two months and four days. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. P&irsade Cooper, of the home; one dnn&hter, Mrs. Nadie Martin, of the home; ons sister, Mrs. E. M. Nichols, of High Point; two grandchildren. James Martin, of Millers Creek,' and Mrs. Marvin Hall, of Cham pion. Two great-grandchildren, Gary Martin, of Millers Creek, and Brenda Hall of Champion. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. A. W. Eller and the pas tor, Rev. Ray Bowman, bearers were: Tom Eller, Glenn Eller, Archie Woods, Hackett phepard, Jess Hall, Cicero Church, Jeter ? Bumgarner and Lundle Piercp. Many beautiful. flowers were fitting tokens of respect for the life of Mrs. Nichols in the com munity. She was a kind and loving mo ther and a friend to all who knew her. Obituary Is Given For Mrs. Minton Laura Virginia McNeil was born June 19, 1880, departed from this life Sept. 2, 1949, her age being 69 years, 2 months, 21 days. <Laura was united in mar riage with Volly Minton. To this unidh Fere born 6 children, one preceding her In death, Bly Eme line Minton. Survivors are Mrs T. H. Buckner, Durham; Mrs. R B. Johnson, Burlington; R* .p. Minton, Wilkesboro; James W. Minton, North Wilkesboro; Wil liam D. Minton, Winston-Salem Other survivors include one bro ther, Jake McNeil, Winston-Sal em; two sisters, Ellen Vlckers, Winston-Salem; Vera Rash, North Wilke8boro; also 15 grandchildren. Mrs. Minton became a mem ber of Pleasant Home Baptist ihurch at an early agp and re nained a member until death. Mrs. Minton was loved by all who mew her. Her passing will lea v. an empty place In our hearts. It makes life brighter by haying known her. As the rock et car neared the top of the tilt ed track, Mrs. MacDonald tree pitched 25 feet to the ground. She died almost immediately.
