Mrs. Bonnie Bare and son, Terry, have retnrned from Den ver, Colo., for a three months' visit with their family. Mr. Bill Harmon, of Winston Salem, spent the week-end in the city with his parents, Mr. * and Mrs. R. Harmon. Rev. and Mrs. Watt M. Coop er and son, Larry, who now re side in Mecklenbug county, visit ed friends here Friday. Rev. Mr. Cooper, former pastor of the First Presbyterian church here, is now pastor of Steele Creek Presbyterian church near Char lotte. Col. A. L. Fletcher, of Ra leigh, spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs. W. R. Absher. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hayworth, of Lake City, Florida, have ar rived to spend the holidays with Mrs. Hayworth's mother, Mrs. J. C. Mitchell, in Wilkesboro. Some improvement is report ed in the oondition of Mrs. J. M. Yates, who has been ill at her home in Wilkesboro for the past several weeks. Miss Jane Carter, a student of Sweet Briar College at Sweet Briar, Va., arrived Saturday to spend the holidays with her mother, Mrs. D. J. Carter. Mrs. M. W. Green, Sr., return ed from Nashville, Tenn., Sun day, where she was called Wed nesday on account of the death of her brother, Mr. Tom Owen. Mr. Walter Myers, manager of The Call Hotel, is out again aft er an illness of nearly two weeks, friends will be glad to learn. Mr. Myers was stricken sudden ly while in Lenoir and was rushed to his home here ? for medical examination and treat ment. Mr. James 0. Hubbard has re turned to his home in Houston, Texas, after spending several days at Moravian Falls last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Hubbard, and other Relatives in that community. C. T. C. at Greenville, and has returned home. Mr. Howard completed a course In science and he will re ceive his degree in the spring. Messrs. Leonard and Jimmy Cook, students at the Georgia Military Academy in College Park, Ga., arrived here Friday evening to spend the Christmas holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Cook. They will return to school January 4th. Christmas Program Of Moravian Falls Baptist Church On Wednesday evening the Moravian Falls Baptist church will open its Christmas season with a special program of in spiration and dedication. This program, under the direction of the pastor, Rev. Dean L. Minton, will consist of a reading of "The Other Wise Man" by Henry Van Dyke, and will be concluded with a service of candlelighting and dedication. The whole commun ity is welcome and all friends of the church are invited to at tend. The program will be held in the church beginning at 7:30 o'clock. On /Thursday evening the young people of the church and community will meet at the church, 7:00 o'clock, to go car oling. A program has been planned which includes several stops for refreshments. All young people are invited to come and bring their husbands, wives, or dates. Sunday, December 25th, the church will have its regular morning worship featuring spe cial Christmas music. The topic of the pastor's sermon at that service -will be "The Meaning of Christmas." At 7:30 on Sunday evening the Sunday school will present its annual Christmas tree program. The story of Christmas is to be dramatized by the children of the church and a very inspiring program is in the offing. All guests will be welcome to attend the special Christmas programs of the Moravian Falls church.
