Doris Darlington and Battle Chloe Pajme played a piano duet, "Bios somtime" Jo Ana Johnston three piano solo*, ''Hello, Mm. Robin," "The Fairies," and "Gypsy Moon"; Jo Ann Porter two piano solos, "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life." "The Swan and the Butterfly;" Wan da PatruiQ, a solo, "Arab Harem". Refreshments were enjoyed dur ing the social hour. Sink, Jr. Married Saturday The Presbyterian church *« the setting for » lovely wedding Saturday afternoon, March 25. when Mine Connie Paw became the bride of Charles Shelton Sink, Jr., In a one o'clock cere mony. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clande CV Paw, of this city, and the groom Is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Shel ton Sink, also of North Wilkes boro. Rev. Watt M. Cooper, of the Steele Creek Presbyterian church near Charlotte and a former pas tor of the bride, officiated using the single ring ceremony. Bas kets of #hlte gladioli and snap dragons arranged with white tap ers in white eandlelabra against a background of fern and palms decorated the church. Wedding music was provided Miss Mary Louise Clements, or ganist, and Miss Ruth King Wood, soloist. .Miss Clements In prelude played a program of nup tial mtuic including "Ich Liebe Dich" (Grieg), "Canzone Amo rosa" (Nevin); "To the Bvening Star -Wagner'' (Tanhauser), and "Liebestod" (Tristan and Isolde) Wagner, Miss Wood sang "The Greatest of These is Love" (Ro berta Bitgood), and'as the mar riage vows were pledged the or ganist sounded mute notes of "To a Wild Rose'' (McDowell). The traditional wedding marches were used for the processional and re cessional. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of candlelight satin with Chan tilly lace trim on bodice and skirt. Her fingertip veil was at tached to a satin cap,' and she carried a muff of white hyclanths. Only attendants for the bride were two of her young nieces, I Margaret Faw Fonvlelle, daughter 'of Mr. and Mrs. W. Alexander Fonvlelle, Jr., ef: Wilmington; and .Mary Carolyn faw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Faw, Jr., as junior bridesmaids. They were dressed la white embroidered i organdy over apple green taffeta and wore matching bonnets. Their f^owgrs were pink muffs of car nations. Best man for the groom was his father, Dr. 81nk, and C. C. Faw, Jr. ushered. Following the ceremony the bridal couple left for a wedding trip to unannounced points, and upon their return will be at home 408 Fifth Street, North Wilkes boro. The bride traveled in a navy blue suit with matching ac cessories. Mrs. FaW, mother Of the bride, wore a powder blue suit with white carnations, and Mrs. Sink, mother of the groom, chose a black suit with white trim and had a corsage of white baby iris. The bride attended Dnke Uni versity, purham, is a graduate of Salem College at Winston-Sa lem, and also attended Tulane Graduate School at New Orleans. She is employed by the Depart ment of Public Welfare in Wilkes County. The groom, who attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a pulpwood dealer in North Wilkesboro. Out of town guests here for ■he wedding were Mr. and Mrs. W. Alexander Fonvlelle, Jr., and other young daughter, Laura; of Wilmington; Thomas M. Faw, of Wake Forest; Misses Hattie Mc Lean and Frances Jones, both of Winston-Salem; and Miss Vir ginia Smith, of Charlotte. Wilkesboro Society Met Tuesday Evening Twenty members attended the monthly meeting of the Woman's Society of the Wilkesboro Metho dist church held Tuesday even ing at the home of Mrs. N. O. Smoak. Other hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Agnes Hart, Mrs. W. B. Somera, and) Miss Frances Somers. Mrs. W. M. De Berry, the president, was in charge of the business session. Mrs. Howard Pharr directed a program on "Christian Advance in Japan," Being assisted by Mrs. Norman Cockman, Robert Gam bit 1, and Mrs. Edison Norman, all members of the Irene Culler Cir cle. The meeting was closed with prayer by Mrs. J. B. Henderson. Refreshments were enjoyed during the social hour. Mrs. C. G. Poindexter Entertains Her Club The members of the Current Topic club and several addition al guests were delightfully en tertained by Mrs. C. G. Poindex ter at her home on E Street Wednesday afternoon. A three course luncheon preceded the game of rook played at four ta bles, and In the serving the hostess was aided by Mrs. Frank Tomlinson and Mrs. Roy Crouse. High and low score prises for club members went to Mrs. Eu gene Trivette and Mrs. Warner Miller, Sr., and the visitors high I to Mis. Perry Lowe, of Moravian Fans. Mrs. M. B. Shoaf cut for the JUIIIUI TTWMIWII J viuu In Monthly Meeting Id (he election of officers at the monthly meeting of the Jan tor Woman's club held Monday evening at the clubhouse lira. Oliver Abeher was re-elected to the office of president. Other officers include Mrs. James Ford, first rico-president; Mrs. John Cushion, second vice-president; Miss A lice Cassel, recording sec retary; Mrs. Robert McNeil, cor responding secretary; and Mrs. J. 0. Jones, treasurer. The new of ficers will begin their term of office in September. Mrs. Absher, the president, who presided for the meeting, welcomed Mrs. J. Q. Adams, new club sponsor, who spoke briefly, praising the work of the club and emphasising the fine rela tionship existing between the Jun ior and Senior clubs. The club voted to send $10.00 each to the Red Cross, Heart As sociation, and Crippled Children funds, also to give #25.00 to the local Teen-Age project. Mr. Jim Moore, a senior in the North Wilkes boro high school, spoke briefly on the art masterpiece ex hibit held this week in the school. Providing the entertainment for the evening were Miss Martha Lou Frazier, soloist, and Miss Liois Scroggs, pianist, who pre sented an Interesting program on American music. Miss Frasier sang "April in Roses" (Duke), "The Song Is You" (Kern), and "One Kiss" (Rowberg). Miss Scroggs played "Barcarolle" (Nevin). A social hour followed the meeting with refreshments being served by the hoBtees group. Miss Mary Caroon was hostess to the members of the Executive board at a meeting held at her home on Thursday evening. Mrs. R. S. Ferguson Addresses Wilkesboro Club Meeting Mrs. R. S. Ferguson, of Taylors vtlle, was speaker for the month ly meeting of the Wilkesboro lag in the Community House. Mrs. C. T. Doughton, program chairman, had Mrs. Ivey Moore, president of the North Wllkes boro clnb, to present Mrs. Fergu son, who made a most Interest ing talk on education. [ Other visitors from Taytors ville were Mrs. R. B. Current, pre sident of the Third district, and her daughter, Miss Anna Ruth Current, and Mrs. Paul Lacker Miss Current, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Lackey sang three numbers, "Ah, You Are So Lov able,'' "The Easter Parade.", and "Lullaby".
