Mrs. Hanner Patrum and children, Wanda, Norman and Jimmie were visitors to Taylors ville beach Sunday. Mrs. Minnie Hunt is spending awhile in Elkin . in the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. L. Love lace, and Mr. Lovelace. Mrs. R. L. Scroggs, of Moravian Falls, who was staying in Char lotte in the home of her nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Miss Isabella Gibbs, daughter' of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gibbs, has returned home after spending a week at Athens, Ga., with her uncle, Mr. John B. Gamble, and Mrs. Gamble. Mrs. George R. Martin and daughter, Deborah Lee, of Butler, Pa., are visiting here this week in the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Grayson. Mrs. Butler is a sister Of Mrs. Grayson. Mr. Dicky Slo0p, after spending a while here in the home of his grandmother, Mrs. R. M. Brame, has returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to attend summer school. Mr. and Mrs. J. James, of Oakwoods, has returned home from a three weeks stay at the City Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, where she has been undergoing a treatment for rheumatism. Her many friends wish for her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mr. J. E. Graham and granddaughter, Julia Graham, all of Charlotte, visited in Wilkesboro Saturday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Smoak. The Grahams were en route to Sparta to visit with Mr. and Mrs. W. J. John son. Fourteen Senior Young People of the First Methodist and Presby terian churches went to Elkin Tuesday evening on a swimming party at the Y. M. C. A. Accom panying the young people were Miss Rebecca Raper and Mr. Gor don Ogilvie. Captain and Mrs. Ernest Eller and two sons, Peter and Johnny, of Washington, D. B. degree, with a major in Economics, from Prince ton University on Tuesday, June 13, returned to his home here Sunday. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Eshelman, attended the commencement finals. Mrs. Bruce Burgess, of Belk's Department store here, is assistant to the New York and Charlotte buyers for Belk's in the Bhowing of new merchandise in the new buying office for Belk's in Charlotte. Miss Margaret Ann Hutchens is leaving tomorrow for Jackson ville, where on S'aturday after noon at five o'clock she will be a bridesmaid in the wedding of Miss Helen Humphrey and Mr. Jay Quinn, which is to take place in the Methodist church. The bride and ^liss Hutchens were classmates at St. Mary's Junior College in Raleigh. Miss Rebecca Raper is going to High Point tomorrow to attend the wedding of her cousin Miss Jean Holton, and Mr. Arnold Med lin, which is to take place at eight D'clock in the evening at the Green Street Baptist church. Miss Raper who is to be one Of a grff.p of honorary bridesmaids in the wed ding, will go to Lake Junaluska tor the week-end to attend an Adult Convocation being held there. Mrs. R. M. Six hundred and fifty guests were present for the ceremony and re ception which was held in the garden at the Broyhill home.
