The cache amounted to $1410.89. The search for her belongings was made after Mrs. Julie Layell was found dead Monday by two neighbors who said she had been missing since Saturday. The cor onr said there was so sign of i violence. County officials and kin, search ing the house, found the savings in various places. All except 89 cents was in bills ranging from $1 to $50. Most bills bore the signature of Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Morganthau. Some signatures were later. There were 410 one-dollar bills, 27 teu-dollar bills, 66 five-dollar bills, 10 twenty-dolllar bills, and four fifty-dollar bills. I Two young Sparta boys were drowned Sunday while swimming in a pond near Sparta. Odell Creed, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay Creed and Daynard Pruitt, 15, son of Mrs. Allen Evans, both' of Sparta, were both- dead before help could arrive. Children standing on the bank of the pond said that' apparently Creed suf fered a cramp and drowned and that Pruitt drowned in the at tempt to save his companion. Neighbors, hearing the screams Of the swimmers and children ar rived too late to prevent the trag edy, which occurred around 8:30 p. m. Creed's body lay in 14 feet of water for, 40 minutes before Billy Carroll Choate found him.
