CALIFORNIA. 1)OOKSfir subscription for $75,000 of the stock y of this company are now open at the office of the company, 78 Broadway, NewY'ork. The uncommonly rich claims of this companv hold out inducements, to those who arc disposed to invest capital in quartz mining in California, not surpassed, if, indeed, equaled by those of any oth er company in that State. The extraordinary richness of our quartz, as was witnessed by thousands at the late F'uir of the A lnerican Institute-, and the extent of our claims, to gether with the peculiarly favorable location for economical working upon a large scale, w ill ensure the most ample aud satisfactory returns upon the investment. It is well understood by practical men that with machinery working twenty tons of quartz, paying two cents per lb., large profits will be realize I up on each day's work. It is the intention of the com pany to obtain machinery sufficient to work fifty tons per day, and to work it in the most economi cal manner, by which they feel confident of be ing able, from their rock which will yield from two cents to twenty dollars to the lb., to make re turus to their shareholders which will not ouly sat isfy, but surprise ti:m. It will be seen, by reading the pamphlet contain ing the charter, the laws of California, and the de tails of our plaus of operation, that ir estimates are based upon two cents per lb., and the expenses of working the mill are put, at the present high prices for labor, while it is well known to all who reflect upon the matter. t?Tat as the cost of labcr shall be reduced, the income will be materially en hanced. If we work 40 tons per day, and get two cents per lb., it will yield $10 Oil, while three, four, r five cents per lb., would give a proportionate in crease of receipts, the expenses of working the mill would not be increased a dollar, and will be less than $ 470 a day. Subscriptions can be made by mail, enclosing ten per cent on the amount; of the balance, twenty per cent to be paid on the 20th of Nov. instant, and seventy per cent on the 2'Jth day of December next, when certificates of stock will be issued. Pamphlets, containing the statutes of California in relation to corporations the rules and regula tions of our locality, the charter and by-laws of the company, together with much other interesting and useful matter, including a map of a portion of the northern mining region, may be had gratis at the office of the Company, No. 78 Broadway, or by mail on application postage paid.
