Thia is to certify that I have used Dr. R. H.
Worth in gton's Cholora medicine in my family for
the last four or five weeks, in several cases of
Bowel Complaint, so common iu our vicinity, with
invariable success. One of the cases was that of
a negro child, some four or five months old, who
was so emaciated by the effects of the disease, that
its Ufa was nearly despaired of. when my wile
happened to think that she would try the Cholera
Medicine, and did so with complete success in less

of the Instrument. The cases are made of rose
wood, and are as handsomely finished as any

as the piano or organ, aad the ton (which is vary
beautiful) closely resembles tbat of the fint stop
of the organ the notes speak taainMauf the keys
are touched, and will admit of the parfermaoc of

right supplies the wind, aa, I works o easily tiiat
a child can manage it without any exertion. The
bellows (which is something entirely new and for
which a patent was grante4 in December," 1849,)
is a reversed or exhaustion bellow aad it is this
in a measure which produces the peculiar tone.
The volume of tone is equal to that of a small
organ, and by means of the swell may be increas

it is sufficiently load for small eharenasv and is
well calculated for a parlor inetrmasnt guaareds

is their rapid sale. Bat it is a new inMrnwient a I

Dbab Sir At your request, I have examined
one of the M elodeons manufactured by Messrs.
Geo. A. Prinrv ft Co., of Buffalo. I tbink them
in all respects equal and in some respects supe
rior to any others of similar kind which I have
seen, and in particular with respect to quality of
tone and promptness of touch, or action of the
reeds by which quick passages may be performed
with certain aod distinct articulation of tone. An
instrument of this kind is the best substitute for
an organ, in church music, with which I am ac

CAUTION We commenced the manufacture of
the Improved Melodeon iu 1847, ainoe whioh time
we have finished and sold over Fourteen Thousand.
During the past three years, we have finished over
Three Thousand MUodeons per year; we have nearly
completed our arrangements for .finishing Four
Thousand annually. 1 be celebrity which our M el
odeons have attained has induced nearly every
music dealer in the United States and Canada to
apply for the agency; but as we make but one
Agent in each city or town, many are neoessarily
disappointed. The result has been that our Name
Plate has been put upon Melodeous which werenot
manufactured by us ; and again, (in a few instances
wchch have come to our knowledge) dealers, who
have been unsble to obtain our instruments, nave
incepted the agency of some other manufacturer
keeping one of our instruments which had purposely
been put out of tune, and in bad order, as a foil to the
Inferior article they offered to the public. For
these reasons we caution, these who wish to satisfj
themselves ef the merits of our Melodeons to ex
amine those only which are offered by our Agents
or those who deal exclusively id our instruments.
Man r improvements applied are exclusively our own
and being the original manufacturers, our experi
ence ha enabled us to produce instrument which
a discerning public have pronounced superior to
anything of the kind hitherto manufactured. Many
of the most eminent musicians of the cities of New
York and Boston have voluntarily given testimon
ials as to the high character of of our instruments,
which can be seen on application.

AYER'S PILLS,
Awnw aad smfrulartv aeeessml remedy for til

Gout, HaaMta, Nervousness, Irritability, Inflamma

very few are the sis aas as ia which a Purgative Modi
da k sot mor or lea required, and much sick
boss and suffering might be prevented, if a harm
less but effectual Cathartic were more freely used.
Ma parse, cam seel wall whflo a eostiv bant of

by tha timaty aad judicious use of a good purgative.
This Is abke true of Colds, Feverish symptoms, and
B&iows ill 1 sua snts Tney an tenu to Deoome or
nrodaoa tbedawe seated aod formidable distempers
which wad tha hearses all aver the land. Hence a
reliable family physic is of tha first importance te
tit public health, aad this Pill has bean perfected
with inaamiiiiistn skill to meet that demand. An
eatesuive trial of its virtues by Physicians, Profes
sors, and Patients, baa shown results surpassing
any tiling hlthsrto known of say medicine. Cures
have been efteemd beyond belief were they not sub
etKarttated by persona of such exalted position and
. I.-..- t tWil anapiMnft oi untruth.
aaaong ta many avaaent geatlasaaa who have
testified ta favor of these Pills, we may mention :
pa. A. A HaTBS, Aaalytioal Chamist, of Boaton.
aad State Assayar of Massachusetts, whoa high
professional character ia endorsed by th
Hon. Edwabo Evxbxtt, Senator of the t. 8.
Robbbt C. WnrTHBor, Ki -Speaker of the House
of Rerxesentatives.
Abbott Lawbbxcb, Minister Plen. to England,
f Jokx B. Fmr atbicx, Cath. Bishopof Boston.
Also. Da. J. R. Chilton, Practical Chemist, of
New York City, endorsed by
How. VT. L. Mabot, Secretary of State.
Wm. B. Astob, the richest man in America.
a Lbxabo A Co., Propr's of the Metropolitan
Hotel, and others.
Did space permit, we could give many hundred
certificates, from all parts where the Pills have
been used, but evidence even more convincing than
th experience of eminent public men is found
in their t fleets upon trial.
These Pills, the resuR of long investigation and
study are offered to the public as the best and
most complete which th present state of medical
science can afford. They are compounded not of
the drags themselves, but of the medicinal virtue
only of Vegetable remedies, extracted by chemical
process m a state of purity, and combined together
in such a manner aa to insure the best results. This
system of imposition for medicines has been found
in the Cherry Pectoral and Pills both, to produce a
more efficient remedy than had hitherto been ob
tained by any process.' The reason is perfectly ob
vious. While by th old mode of composition, ev
ery medicine is burdened with more or less of acri
monious and injurious qualities, by this each indi
vidual virtue only that is desired for the curative
' effect is present. All the inert and obnoxious qual
ities of each substance employed are left behind, the
curative virtues only being retained. Hence it is
self-evident the enacts should prove as they have
nroved more vurelv remedial, and the Pills a surer,
more powerful antidote to disease than any other
ne known ta the world.
As it ia freemen tlv expedient that my medicine
should be taken under the counsel of an attending
Physician, and aa he could not properly judge of a
remedy without knowing its composition, I have
supplied tit accurate Formula) by which both my
Pectoral aad Pills are made to the whole body of
Practitioners in the United State and British Amer
ican Provinces. If however there should be any
one who has not received them, they will be
promptly forwarded by mail t his address.
Of all the Patent Medicines that are offered, how
few would b taken if their com position was known I
Their lias consists ia their mystery. I have no
mysteries.
- The Composition of my preparations is laid open
to all men, aad all who are oempetent to judge on
th subject freely acknowledge their convictions
of their intrinsic merits. The Cherry Pectoral waa
pronounced by scientific men to be a wonderful
medicine before its effect were known. Many em
inent Physicians have declared the . same thing of
my Pills, aad even more eonfideatly, and are will
ing to certify that their anticipations were more
titan realised by their effects upon trial
They operate by their powerful infiaenc on the
internal vwcera to purify th blood and stimulate it
into healthy action remove the obstructions of
tha stoaiach, bowels, liver, sad other organs of the
body, restoring their Irregular action to health, and
by correcting, wherever they exist, such derange
ments aa ar the first origin of disease.
Bala, sums wraxmad thev are pleasant to take,
and being purely vegetable, no barm can aria from
their us in aav quantity.
