M., of the 21st of December next, for the purchase of $40,000 of' bor.ds issued by the State of North Carolina. They will be. dated, July 1st, 1855, and redeemable in ten years. They w ill be Issued in sums of $1000 each, and will have couaons attached for interest at six per cent per annum, payable semi-annually. Both principal and interest will be payable at the Bank of the Republic, New York, unless where the purchaser prefers to have them payable at the Treasury of this state. These bonds are exempted from taxation for any purpose. Parties bidding will please address their bids, endorsed 44 Proposals for North Carolina Stocks," to the undersigned, at Raleigh, N. C. Successful bidders, upon being inlorm.ed of the acceptance of their bids, can deposit the amount of their bids, with the accrued interest from the 1st of July last, in either the Bank of the Renub- lic, New York, the Bank of the State of North Carolina, or the Bank of Cape Fear, at Raleigh.
