The-Register was estab lished in 1799, by the Father of the late Editor and the Grandfather of the ' present Editor, and under his auspices attained a support, which it has steadily maintained until this day. It has therefore quite a large circulation, mud an extensive Advertising and Job patronage. The 5th Section of the Act of Incorporation pro vides "that the husband may insure his own life, for the sole use and benefit of his wife or children, and, iu case of the death of the husband, the amount thos subscribed shall 'be paid over to the wife or children,-or their guardian, if under age, for her or their own use, free from al) the. claims of the rep resentatives ef the husband, or any of his creditors." This provision needs no comment.
