Here is a pre paration which the leading presses in the Union appear to be unanimous in recommending, and the reason is obrioas. It is nude after a proscription furnished by one of the most celebrated physicians f mdern times, the lute Dr Christopher Wilhelm HooSisd, Professor to the University of Jena, Pri vatt Physician to the King of Prussia, and one of the greatest medical writers Germany has everpro aaced . He was emphatically the enemy of humbug. and therefore a medicine of which he was the in veoter and endorser may be confidently relied on. He specially recommended it in Liver Complaint, Dyspepsia, Debility, Vertigo, Acidity of the Siona aek, Constipation and all complaints arising from a disordered condition of the stomach, the Liver and lh intestines. Nine Philadelphia papers express their conviction of its excellence, and several of the 4hors' peak of its effects from their own individ al experience. SO certain is the fact that Dr Little's Ver mifuge will relieve children from worms, it they have them, that hundreds of families nsw do not pretend to do without it. It is sIm true, that children are frequently physicked far several days, without much improvement ; when this remedy has been used tbey have gotten well immediately. For ftll bowel complaints ihe Vermifuge is excellent, ard if at all dependent on worms, as it often is, it is a sure cure at once. When children are pale or an guid, attended with the nsual symptoms Qf bad health, nothing more is necessary than to give this remedy a few times in order to restore th m. The following statements have just ben received: Amkricus, May, 1849. As I have used Dr. Little's Vermifuge in my fam ily, I take pleasure in saying 1 have found it to be a most excellent remedy for worms. In oa case it caused tbe expulsion of forty-two, and sme of them were over a foot long. Jonathan Etajttord. Having used Dr. Little. Vermifuge, I am enabled to say, that it is a very excellent remedy to cure children of worms. (Signed) Wat. B. Gnur. When a child is loaded with worn a, or prostra ted with their effects, it is not always safe, by any means, to give calomel, because it excites too much actiou, and, together with the disph cement of the worms will often sink a child before much else can be done for it. On the other hand my Vermifuge is perfectly .afe, and prodaees no fuel) excitement, is much more destructive to worms, and at the same lime gradually expels them. Talbt County, Sep., 1848. Da. LrrTi. Sir : In a few cases, I have given your Vermifuge to children when they were puny, bad bresth, enlarged abdomen, fever occasionally, tc. aud the result was.they soon got well, although no 'worms were discharged niying this medicine occasionallyi I find makes children more healthy Respectfully yours, frc. It has surplxtited every Smut Machine yet offered in the State, more or less of which have been taken down to make room for it. The public need fear no imposi tion, as there are now some 2S0 Machines running in Noh Carojina ; and I wish to offer np other references than the gentlemen who are using them, whose expectations have been more tban realized in their performance. It not only thoroughly cleanses the Wheat of Smut, hot also purifies it of all other substances, almost to perfection. It takes up but 4 teet square in the mill and requires bnt little pow er. It is warranted for five years against breaking or wearing out, and also to retain its cleansing qual ities for that time. There are a number of these Machines through which 100,000 bushels of Wheat have been cleans ed and they have never been out of order one d.-iy. There was awarded to it the Premium of the Ma ryland State Fair, and a Premium with a silver me dal, at the Fair of the Maryland Institute, at Bal more, last Fall.
