Certiorari was issued to the clerk of Da

.that when the case waa reached the pros

and proposed that the pleas be entered by
consent and the triul proceed. But the
defense was mulish and insisted upon
letting the case take ita course.
On to-day the case of the State against

It I proposed by several members

ed by a letter from the Pioprieior, that
the Legislature has incorporated tin
"Sparkling Catawba Springs Company,"
and that a joint stock company is to be
formed on tbe 6 tt of May. Thirty eight
thousand dollars been expended in im
proving the property, and the whole is
valued at sixty thousand dollars There
are to be sold one hundred and twci.ty
shares' at five hundred dollars each. At
tached to the Springs are two hundred
and fifty acres of good land, and a tine
store house all of which is included, to
gether with the furniture and buildings
which are ample enough to accommoda te
between three and four hundred persons.
We are satisfied that this is one of the
most desirable and vain. the watering

that it must become the popular Summer

PECTORAL BALM!
N approved and effectual Remedy for
Chronic BronchitviAothma tlie
wastinir Congiis in advanced ao ;
Bleeding from the Langs, die., and
caiable ot doins; more reel service in confirm
ed Consumption, than all the Expectorants,
Coiii,'h Mixtures. Sic, extant.
It is scientifically compounded of intrrrdients
well known for their virtues and adaptation to
the diseases named ; and is the result of lone
and extensive experience and patient investi
gation ol the laws of the animal economy ; to
gether with an intimate knowledge of remedial
agents, in their physiological and therapeutic
effect on t he human system;
It is quite unlike the numberless Expector-
Pectorals Sic., so recklessly and persist
ently paliheo n(sc. the suffering and confiding
people; in the fact, that :: is not an Expector
ant, per se , nor is it loaded' i!h Opium or
vior oniric, in o'der to lull the noor sonerer
with its delusive influences. Many a vahuv
ble life has been sacrificed and expectorated in
u a premature grave. On the contrary, it is
calculated to cheek excessive expectoration
which of itself is exceedingly exhaustive, and
by its general and specific action, to heal and
soothe the weak, inflamed and irritated orgsca,
Of the several ingredients which compose
thts valuable Balm, there is no one, watch
not constantly used, by the best Physicians, in
the diseases above enumerated, and of many
eminent medical gentlemen, to whom its com
position has been made known, there has not
been one, who has not highly appioved it ; and
in some instances, have not only prescribed it
for their patients, but have used it in their own
cases, witn marked advantage.
